Egyptian Revival Clock and Garnitures - a Belgian slate clock retailed by Dent, with 5 bronze statues, including a Sphinx and hieroglyphics, with a high quality C. R. Movement with a dead beat escapement also bears plaque inscribed ' TO GEORGE MANSFIELD FROM LORD RODNEY WITH KINDEST REMEMBERENCE '.
The clock measuring 18" high and garnitures measuring 11" high

Lord Rodney of Military fame , who owned the clock , fought in various Suez Campaigns in Egypt and gave this clock and garnitures to Mr. George Mansfield of The Blue Funnel Line, possibly on his retirement, (Steam Ships operating through the Suez Canal , Mansfield was held in high place in the esteem of everyone )
