Militaria: World War 2 U-Boat Commander (Kapitänleutnant) Herbert Brüninghaus (1910-1977) Unterseeboot Kriegsmarine WWII:

The personal WW2 photograph album of the Navigator of U38, later Commander of U6, U148 and U1059, containing c177 monochrome photographs.
Beginning with a cadet merit certificate, signed 'Liebe'? (Fregattenkapitän Heinrich Liebe was Brüninghaus' Commander aboard U38, during which time he sank 33 ships - 164,746 tons of shipping.) The following pages portraying activities at the Nordsee naval training base, loading torpedoes and deck guns, manoeuvres, swimming etc. The later pages depicting the submarine tender 'Saar' in a flotilla dock with several U-boats penned adjoining, and high-ranking officers in the conning tower of U7. Later pages depict Kriegsmarine officers gathered at a U-boat launch ceremony, and informal shots of training exercises.
